Classes & Lessons

GECI offers lessons to people who provide their own horses (haul-in or boarders).  GECI does not currently have any lesson horses available. Lessons are a minimum of an hour long to as long as 1 1/2 hours.

Private lessons- $60

Group lesson- $40/participant 

Riders scheduling lessons can do so anytime during open arena, at a time that fits their schedule. Please email or text first to schedule a lesson.  Open arena is between 9AM-9PM seven days a week. Except when the barn is closed for some holidays, during scheduled class or clinic time.

Riders have a minimum of 24 hours before classes or lessons to sign-up or cancel. 

 

 CLASSES OFFERED
 
HORSEMANSHIP Horsemanship skills; trailer loading, problem horses, balance, timing,feel, soft feel, buddy sour, gaining control of the horses feet, transitions, confidence building, groundwork, flexing, bending...ect.  
 JUMPING  All levels up to 3ft. Hunter/Jumper & Cross Country
 DRESSAGE All levels up to and including First Level. 
 PLEASURE Practicing and showing Western/English Pleasure, Western Horsemanship/Equitation, and Showmanship
 ON THE FLAT Combination non-jumping class.  Could be pleasure, dressage, and/or horsemanship related. 
 OBSTACLES Trail obstacles and confidence building (for both horse and rider)
 ON THE TRAIL
 Weather permitting, we will travel to a nearby park and have class on the trail.

Alicyn Arnold incorporated GECI in 2005 .  

Alicyn grew up with horses from the age of 3 and began showing in local open shows at the age of 5.  She is a 9 year 4-H Horse & Pony member of Hamilton Co. showing all types of riding from Western and Contesting to Dressage, English, Driving, and Jumping.  Alicyn continues to challenge herself through horse showing and many educational opportunities. She began riding 3-Day eventing in 2004.  She has attended and participated in many horsemanship clinics with Buck Branaman (since 2005 and yearly since 2012) Ricky Quinn (yearly from 2004-2013), Buster McLaury (yearly since 2008);  Dressage instruction from Ed Rothkranz (2004-2008); Jaton Lord (2016-2019);  She also has ridden in clinics with Barb Gerbitz, Kip Fladland, Dave Gamble, Eric Horgan, Ken Dromgool, Dorthy Crowell, Nadeem Noon, Sharon White, & Ian Stark.
